BRUSH GRAPPLE SKID STEER

The brush grapple is a heavy duty attachment designed for compact track loaders and skid steer loaders built to grab, lift, and move brush, limbs, logs, and debris during land clearing and site cleanup. Its open grapple design lets dirt and small debris fall through the tines, so you haul brush and logs instead of a bucket full of soil, and the strong clamping force secures bulky, irregular material that buckets and forks cannot. This is what makes a skid steer brush grapple faster than a plain bucket for land clearing and cleanup. By reducing manual handling and speeding up cleanup, the brush grapple improves productivity and safety for contractors, landscapers, and land management crews. Handling mostly logs and timber? See the Red Line skid steer log grapple. Clearing standing brush and small trees first? Pair it with the Red Line skid steer brush cutter, or step up to a Bull Hog mulcher for heavy growth.

  • Job sites, and right of way work

Key features

Dual Lid Control. Adaptable Design.

  • Dual independent lids for improved load security
  • Removable side plates for adaptable material handling
  • Designed tines for gripping brush and debris

Performance

Secure Grip for Irregular Loads

  • Open grapple design handles bulky, uneven material and lets soil sift through the tines. Dual independent lids grip oddly shaped loads that a single lid would drop, clamping each side separately for a secure hold on irregular brush piles and logs.
  • Long serrated tines improve material retention
  • Inline hydraulic flow control for smoother lid operation

Service and maintenance

Protected Components. Rugged Construction.

  • Hoses and dual cylinders shielded by single piece guard

Frequently Asked Questions

A brush grapple is an open-tine attachment for grabbing, lifting, and moving brush, limbs, logs, and debris. The open design between the tines lets dirt and small material fall through, so you haul only what you want and keep your dump weight down. A grapple bucket has a solid bottom, so it holds everything including soil, which is better for loading loose material like mulch or gravel but heavier and messier for brush cleanup. For land clearing, storm cleanup, and site work, the open brush grapple is the faster tool.

They look similar but do different jobs. A brush grapple, like this Red Line, is built to grab and carry brush, limbs, and logs above ground. A root grapple has shorter, soil-penetrating tines and a lower profile designed to dig under roots and stumps and pry them out of the ground. If your work is picking up and moving cut and cleared material, you want a brush grapple. If you are ripping roots and stumps out of the soil, that is a root grapple’s job.

Dual independent lids clamp each side of the load separately, so when you grab something thicker on one side than the other, both lids still close and grip. A single lid would catch on the high spot and let the rest slip. For irregular brush piles, logs, and oddly shaped debris, dual lids give a far more secure hold, which means fewer dropped loads and safer handling.

The Red Line brush grapple comes in two models: the BG48 at 48 inches and 350 pounds for mini skid steers, and the BG84 at 84 inches and 990 pounds for full-size skid steers and compact track loaders. The BG84 has a 60-inch jaw opening for bulky material. Match the grapple to your loader’s capacity, send us your machine’s make and model, and we will confirm the fit.

Yes, it grabs and moves logs, limbs, and brush. If your work is primarily log and timber handling rather than mixed brush cleanup, Fecon also makes a dedicated skid steer log grapple built specifically for that, which may be the better fit. Tell us the job and we will point you to the right one.
