FELLING SAW SKID STEER
The Red Line felling saw, also called a skid steer tree saw or felling head, is a high performance attachment for compact track and skid steer loaders, designed to safely and efficiently fell and limb trees during land clearing, right-of-way maintenance, and pasture reclamation. The FS38 disc saw cuts trees up to 14 inches in a single pass. Powered by a direct drive motor and a large diameter cutting disc, it delivers fast spool up, smooth cutting, and consistent performance, while manual or hydraulic rotation options, a 180 degree saw head, and integrated features such as a large push bar and screened cab guard give operators greater control and protection on every cut. Need to shear and bunch multiple stems instead of sawing? See the Fecon tree shear. Clearing brush rather than felling trees? See the skid steer brush cutter. Need to trim overhead limbs instead of felling the whole tree? See the Trim Ex skid steer limb saw.

Customer and use cases
Built for Controlled Tree Felling
- Land clearing, pasture reclamation, and right of way maintenance
- Tree removal, limbing, tree cutting, and vegetation management. As a skid steer tree saw it handles standing timber a shear or mulcher cannot cut cleanly
- Wooded areas, roadside corridors, construction sites, and confined work zones
Key features
High Performance Cutting System
- Caseless motor and large diameter cutting disc
- 180 degree saw head with manual or hydraulic rotation
- Large push bar and screened cab guard for improved control and protection
Performance
Fast Spool Up. Smooth, Consistent Cutting.
- High inertia disc delivers smooth, controlled cutting
- Large blade carrier diameter supports productivity across tree sizes
- Optional hydraulic rotation improves positioning during felling and limbing
Service and maintenance
Designed for Straightforward Service
- Common industry tooling and readily available replacement teeth
- Easy access panels to internal hydraulic components
- Simple rotate mechanism minimizes wear and reduces long term maintenance

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. A felling saw and a skid steer tree saw are the same type of attachment: a powered disc saw that fells and limbs standing trees. Some buyers also call it a felling head or a saw head. The Red Line FS38 is all of these, built for skid steers and compact track loaders.
A tree saw cuts through the trunk with a spinning saw disc, which handles larger and harder wood and leaves a clean stump. A tree shear squeezes through the trunk with a blade, which is fast on smaller stems and can bunch several at once but is limited on diameter and hardwood. If you are felling larger standing timber, the saw is the tool. If you are shearing and bunching small stems, see the Fecon tree shear. Match the tool to your stem size and species.
The FS38 cuts trees up to 14 inches in diameter in a single pass. It needs 50 to 135 horsepower and 14 to 50 GPM of hydraulic flow, and weighs 1,200 lbs, so it suits mid-size and larger skid steers and compact track loaders.
The FS38 is built for skid steer and compact track loader mounting. If you need a felling head for an excavator, tell us your machine and we will point you to the right Fecon solution.
The 180-degree rotating saw head, available with manual or hydraulic rotation, lets you angle the cut and direct where the tree falls without repositioning the machine. The large push bar helps guide the tree down safely, and the screened cab guard protects the operator from debris.
