The FTX300 is a purpose built mulching tractor in the 300 HP class, designed for heavy land clearing. It uses a low ground pressure oscillating carriage with 30 inch track shoes for balanced traction in hard or soft conditions, and carries either the RK8620 pin on Bull Hog or the SH300 stump grinder.
A Cummins QSB6.7, a 6.7 litre six cylinder, Tier 4 Final and Stage V, rated at 310 HP with 950 ft lbs of torque at 1,500 RPM. An export only Tier 3 version is also offered at 270 HP with 730 ft lbs of torque.
26,980 lbs on its own and 32,092 lbs with the Bull Hog fitted, giving 4.1 psi ground pressure to SAE J1309. Overall height is 125 inches, width is 94 inches or 101 inches with the head, and length is 185 inches or 232 inches with the head. Travel speed is 4.5 mph.
The mulcher circuit is rated at 115 gpm at 5,400 psi with a 49 gallon hydraulic tank. Fuel capacity is 100 gallons and DEF capacity is 15 gallons, with consumption around 7 to 9 gph of fuel and 0.4 to 0.5 gph of DEF.
It monitors the hydraulic circuits continuously and routes engine horsepower where it is needed most, so the machine can mulch uphill while keeping control of both the lift arms and the track system. Paired with the RK8620 head, recovery time is under 8 seconds.
Maximum reach with the Bull Hog is 55 inches and maximum below grade is 32 inches, using a radial lift gear arrangement. That range gives the operator finer control over the head, which translates directly into more production per hour.
