Frequently Asked Questions
The CEM36 is rated for 8 to 15 ton excavators. Fecon calls it the Compact Equipment Mulcher because it balances weight against durability for carriers that have less power and lifting capacity than a full size excavator.
The CEM36 works across a flow range of 17 to 40 GPM at a maximum pressure of 6,000 PSI. It uses a variable displacement 55cc hydraulic motor, and the hydraulics are adjustable to match your specific carrier’s flow and pressure.
It mulches material up to 6 inches with ease. Working width is 36 inches and overall width is 47 inches, which keeps the head compact enough for tight corridors while still covering useful ground on each pass.
1,450 lbs, or 658 kg. That relatively light weight is what makes it suitable for smaller excavators, since a heavier head would eat into lift capacity and stability at full reach.
Reach. Mounted on an excavator, a Bull Hog can clear trees and brush along roadsides, ravines, creeks and riverbanks, and other places a loader cannot get to safely. The boom also lets you work above and below grade from a single machine position.
It uses a Fecon Grinding Technology rotor with Double Carbide tools. The standard rotor carries 18 tools and the DCR rotor carries 14. Rotor diameter is 20 inches, turning at 2,000 RPM on an ST65 bearing.
Two rotor systems with several cutting tool choices: Double Carbide, High Abrasion, Stone Tool, Viking Sword and Viking Axe. Which one suits you depends on how abrasive your soil is and how much ground contact the operator expects.
