Bull Hog For Hydraulic Features
Fecon’s Bull Hogs provide durability that is known and expected in the mulching industry.
Clear The Way With Fecon Mulching Equipment
- Leading with the strongest severe-duty body construction in the industry for extreme demands – offering heavy-duty solutions that stand the test of daily, full-time use over thousands of hours.
- Two rotor systems with many cutting tool options — Double Carbide, High Abrasion, Stone Tool, Viking Sword, and Viking Axe.
Speed/Torque Optimization
- Optimize mulching performance with Fecon’s variable speed motor for hydraulic-powered Bull Hogs. Fecon’s variable speed feature automatically adjusts the Bull Hog’s motor displacement to maximize rotor speed and torque to changing material loads.
- Under lighter material loads, the variable speed motor provides higher RPM, more bites per second, and finer material sizing. With heavier material loads, the variable speed motor delivers more rotor torque and staying power. This keeps the Bull Hog rotor turning where other heads would stall. The variable speed motor is field-tested and proven to provide substantial productivity.
Bull Hog Standard Feaures:
- Adjustable pin-on push bar with serrated ears for directing material
- Curved skid shoes are made from AR400 steel, can be adjusted for desired ground engagement, and allow for less plowing of material for more uniform final results.
- The Bull Hog trap door helps contain debris and achieve finer sizing.
- Standard pin-on and quick-attach mounts are available for many prime movers, and custom mounts can be easily provided upon request.

Frequently Asked Questions
These hydraulic driven Bull Hogs are configured for open loop, load sense or closed loop hydraulic systems on prime movers up to 600 horsepower. Tracked or wheeled, big or small, Fecon supplies pin on, quick attach and custom mounts to suit the carrier.
These heads mulch material up to 14 to 20 inches with ease, which puts them in the heavy land clearing class rather than general brush work. Available working widths are 86, 89 and 100 inches.
The family covers 50 to 210 GPM depending on model and motor package, all at a maximum pressure of 6,000 PSI. As an example, the RK8620-3 runs 50 to 105 GPM on two 107V motors, while the BH300HXD-5 runs 180 to 210 GPM on two 250V motors.
The RK8620 and BH120H are 86 inch heads using a 20 inch rotor at 2,000 RPM on SD65 bearings, weighing 4,400 to 4,950 lbs. The XD severe duty models step up: the BH230HXD uses a 22 inch rotor at 1,800 RPM and the BH300HXD uses a 26 inch rotor at 1,600 RPM, both on SD90 bearings.
An adjustable pin on push bar with serrated ears for directing material, curved AR400 steel skid shoes that adjust for ground engagement and reduce plowing, and a trap door that helps contain debris and achieve finer sizing. Standard pin on and quick attach mounts cover most prime movers, with custom mounts available on request.
Fecon offers FGT and DCR rotor configurations with a choice of Double Carbide, High Abrasion, Stone Tool, Viking Sword and Viking Axe teeth. Tool count runs 48 per standard rotor and 36 to 42 per DCR rotor depending on the model.
It automatically adjusts motor displacement so rotor speed and torque track the load. Light material gets higher RPM and finer sizing. Heavy material gets more torque and staying power, which keeps the rotor turning instead of stalling and needing time to recover.
