Bull Hog for Skid Steers Overview

The Bull Hog for skid steers is offered with HDT (traditional) FGT (drum) or DCR (depth control) rotors. HDT and FGT rotors come standard with double carbide tools and can be equipped with two optional tools for more abrasive or rocky applications, or equipped with knife tools for faster cutting and finer particle sizing. Aggressive counter cutting rake tines contribute to excellent material sizing and performance. Different push bar options are available including a hydraulic tilting feature that provides the best in tree and material handling. Push Bar Weld-On Serrated Ears direct material to better feed the Mulcher. Optional 3-position or hydraulic tilting hinged motor covers easy service access without tools. The optional trap door Contain Debris Achieve Finer Sizing Curved Skid Shoes AR400 Steel Less Plowing of Material for More Uniform Final Results HDT Rotor System The shape of HDT tools, low profile rotor bars, stronger forged tool holder design, and a staggered tool pattern provide excellent mulching performance and durability. In some models a patented step-tool pattern provides even greater performance. HDT excels in stringy vegetation and where working material into the soil is necessary. FGT Rotor System The FGT rotor system is a drum-style configuration featuring a smooth rotor surface, spiral tool pattern, and innovative tool shape for smooth, efficient cutting. In addition to outstanding performance, the FGT rotor system is built to last in the severe application of mulching. DCR Rotor System The Fecon DCR brings a superior level of performance and value to mulching, controlling the depth of bite and directing material flow so that energy is reserved for production. The innovative DCR cuts quickly, delivering better fuel economy and more uniform particle size.

Applications

  • Land Clearing

Terrain, density of the vegetation, soil stability, moisture, species to be treated, environmental concerns and obstacles to work around are some of the considerations when choosing the right machine for the application. The successful land-clearing contractor will usually approach the job with a variety of units including tracked or wheeled mulching machines, excavator mulchers and skid steer tractors equipped with mulching attachments as well as other tools to handle the many tasks found on the average land-clearing site.

  • Seismic Exploration

Seismic exploration on forested land demands performance.  “It’s about linear feet or kilometers per day” and requires reliability and horsepower! Fecon machines are purpose built for the unique and challenging set of circumstances for clearing the woody vegetation for seismic exploration.

  • Forest Wood Fuel Removal

There are many equipment options for ladder fuel and underbrush removal including tracked or wheeled forestry mulching machines, mulching attachments and tree shears. Forestry mulchers are a tool to consider for mulching fire lines. And after the fire is out and clean up efforts are under way, it is important to ensure minimal water pollution and soil erosion.

  • Removal of Invasive Species

Fecon forestry equipment can be highly effective when used to remove invasive species. Plant diseases, Beetle-killed trees and invasive species of plants can all pose significant threats to native vegetation, water supplies, and wildlife habitats, and could lead to a potential wildfire.

  • Wetland and Habitat Construction

Maintaining an effective animal habitat encompasses: food, water, shelter, and space. This is where the forestry mulchers and forestry mowers can help. Forestry mulchers and forestry mowers are great tools for removing underbrush and invasive species. Also, water sources can be obstructed from access or become stagnant due to tree and understory growth. Excavator mulchers and tree shears are excellent for managing or removing trees and underbrush.
