  • Management/Professional Territory Manager

    Fecon is looking for a quality-driven team member to manage equipment sales. This individual is responsible for selling Fecon land clearing equipment and construction attachments to land clearing contractors and construction equipment dealers. This position is home-based with regular travel. This is a hands-on job, working with the equipment and demoing for customers and also training operators. The Territory Manager will occasionally partner with the engineering and production departments to consider revisions and updates.


    Our Territory Managers are responsible for building relationships – both setting up new relationships and nurturing existing relationships with our dealers and customers. Additionally, responsibilities include developing sales targets among land clearing contractors.


    **Product testing and operation training is a crucial responsibility of this position.**


    Skills and Knowledge:

    •     Knowledge of heavy equipment/construction equipment is required.
    •     Two years of experience in sales of construction equipment is helpful.
    •     Computer literate.
    •     Strong work ethic.
    •     Extremely organized with excellent written and oral communication skills.
    •     Must be able to handle cold calls.
    •     Physical ability to safely climb onto and around the equipment.
    •     Experience and physical ability to safely drive and operate machinery.

  • Management/Professional Mechanical Design Engineer

    The mechanical engineer will be responsible for new product development activities and assisting the lead project engineer in day to day project activities. The activities will include responsibilities of mechanical system design of Fecon products, as well as the implementation of designs. This position includes (but is not limited to) the following responsibilities along with the primary responsibility of subsystem design as well as complete product design utilizing 3D design software. Five plus years experience preferred.

    •     Uses computer-assisted engineering software to design, develop, and/or modify products, applying engineering principles.
    •     Prepares product or system layouts, detailed manufacturing drawings and schematics.
    •     Determines feasibility of designs considering costs, time limitations, planning, and other technical and economic factors.
    •     Analyzes engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to design.
    •     Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs that can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
    •     Confers with research and other engineering personnel and prepares design modifications as required.
    •     Evaluates engineering test results for possible application to development of systems or other uses.


    Engineering and Technology

    •     BS in mechanical engineering required.
    •     Three to five years experience preferred.
    •     Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various Products.


    Skills Required

    •     Strong ability to multi-task.
    •     Knowledge of BOM’s.
    •     Good oral and written communication skills.
    •     Software skills: Solid Works or Solid Edge; AutoCAD is a plus.
    •     Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
    •     Physical ability to safely climb onto and around the equipment.

  • Management/Professional Shop Service Technician

    The Shop Service Technician serves conducts repairs and updates on Fecon equipment. Visiting customer sites to make repairs, address service problems to determine service and parts needs, and working with parts, service and engineering to fulfill the customer’s requirements is the bulk and main area of responsibility.

    The Shop Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing equipment in house and in the field. Extensive mechanical and hydraulic ability in the mobile equipment industries is required. This can include skid steers, excavators, forestry equipment, fork trucks, semi-trucks, and more. If you are someone that likes to get their hands dirty working on machines, we would like to hear from you. Automotive experience is generally not enough.



    •     Resourcefulness to find needed services and parts in remote locations.
    •     Mechanical aptitude and the ability to MIG or flux core weld.
    •     Excellent people skills working with a diverse set of customers and dealers is a must.
    •     Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required.

    The Product Manager is an expert for the assigned products and is responsible for managing the product life cycle in processes, developing sales and marketing collateral, and ensuring all product related information is communicated to the appropriate channels.


    Key performance objectives in order of priority include:  

    - Manages product position in the product life cycle in order to meet strategic objectives as well as revenue and margin goals.

    - Creates and oversees the execution of the plan that sets the vision and objectives for category products to drive product awareness and sales.

    - Acts as a resource to equip and enable the sales team in order to meet sales objectives.

    - Monitors and reports on category performance to ensure alignment with company priorities.

    - Develops business growth opportunities, evaluate feasibility for strategic fit, and lead implementation to meet company growth objectives.


    Interpersonal Responsibilities

    1. Serves as the primary product expert to assist sales team, marketing team, customers and distributors with product, technical and/or application questions; generates enthusiasm among sales team, and trains and coaches sales and marketing teams on becoming product experts. Trains Service staff on product value and specifications.
    2. Collaborates with and supports the Chief Product Manager by providing updates, reports, product specification changes, product and staff performance plans and issues, market and sales activities, and gap analysis routinely or as needed.
    3. Manages the prospecting and sales processes to turn sales leads into opportunities; makes presentations and conducts demonstrations internally and externally. Makes sales calls and closes deals as needed.
    4. Fosters and promotes professional, ethical and positive interactions with current and potential customers, vendors and the community, through application of meticulous standards and attention to detail, personal contact, and the maintenance of strong relationships with customers, vendors, employees, manufacturing, distributors, management, and the community.
    5. Encourages and seeks opportunities for collaborative efforts, seeks understanding of issues, anticipates and troubleshoots problems, and resolves urgent and ongoing matters.
    6. Participates in industry associations, attends seminars, and collaborates with industry influencers to enhance and share knowledge, remain abreast of best practices, trends, and newest techniques/products, and receive/provide advice. Attends national and regional conferences, meetings, and trade shows to encourage development and to enhance quality and image of Fecon.
    7. Serves as intermediary between manufacturing and vendors to report and resolve issues, gain understanding, and ensure proper application of vendor supplies. 


    Operational Responsibilities

    1. Coordinates, manages and executes strategies in all aspects of product life cycle management including product creation & development, information, and data pertaining to go-to-market processes. Establishes key performance measures associated with the product and with sales.
    2. Prioritizes, segments, and processes information to internal and external stakeholders to effectively communicate product information to the customers; ensures all product related information is accessible and communicated to appropriate parties in a timely manner.
    3. Collaborates with production management to ensure product availability and deliverability. Provides insight from the sales perspective on manufacturing issues and works with appropriate departments to ensure resolution of product or scheduling problems.
    4. Conducts competitive analysis and assists in developing strategies to drive product success including market position, product quality and pricing as well as cost reductions.
    5. Conducts market and voice-of-the-customer research to determine target markets and recommend new markets, address customer needs and set pricing strategies. Shares insights and analyses with internal teams.
    6. Provides feedback to management concerning product value, sustainability, and profitability and makes recommendations to introduce new products, make changes to existing items, or withdraw products from the market. Understands the impact of product withdrawal on customers currently utilizing such equipment and provides solutions to address the effect.
    7. Develops and maintains a product database that includes product specifications, artwork and marketing collateral.
    8. Collaborates with Engineering to create new products, develop new and/or existing product specifications and pricing; drives the collaboration with internal teams toward successful product launches.
    9. Coordinates and participates in the activities associated with providing appropriate presence and coverage at trade shows and with selecting the associated materials and advertising.
    10. Assists in developing, designing and implementing marketing and training collateral as well as product related presentations for assigned products.
    11. Monitors vendor performance and ability to meet contracted specifications, resolving issues or determining means to sever the relationship.
    12. Monitors customer service reports, identifies issues or trends, and coordinates activities to address customer concerns or needs in order to ensure customer satisfaction.


    Organizational Responsibilities

    1. Collaborates with webmaster to ensure that product information presented on the website is current, accurate, and reflective of the Fecon standards and branding.
    2. Generates enthusiasm and interest in new products by preparing presentations and conducting new product Gate meetings and launches.
    3. Assists in the development of new marketing tools and resources, including the development of videos, photographs, brochures, press releases, or other materials.



    Experience:  0-1 years Sales & Marketing experience. Sales Engineer experience and Mechanical aptitude are a plus. New graduates welcome. Be able to interact with various clients/prospect. Be versatile and able to adapt when in front of different clients, Overnight travel will be required (20% initially, may become 30-35%).

    Education:  Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business.

  • Service Field Service Technician

    Reports to the Service Manager

    This position does not manage employees.

    Conduct field repairs, installations and updates on heavy equipment.
Visit customer sites to make repairs and address service problems to determine service and parts needs.
Work with Parts, Service and Engineering departments to fulfill customer requirements is a large part of the responsibilities.
Train customers and dealers on the proper care and maintenance of equipment are also part of the duties.
Additional responsibilities include trouble shooting, conducting product orientation and training sessions in-house and on the road.
Extensive mechanical, electrical and hydraulic ability in the Heavy Equipment industry is REQUIRED.
This can include skid steers, excavators, forestry equipment, fork trucks, semi-trucks and more. AUTOMOTIVE EXPERIENCE DOES NOT MEET THIS REQUIREMENT.


    Skills Required:

    •     Ability to travel as required to customer locations (50% - 75% of the time).
    •     Resourcefulness to find needed services and parts in remote locations.
    •     Ability to work with customer and dealer personnel in a cooperative way to get a job or training mission accomplished.
    •     Excellent people skills working with a diverse set of customers and dealers.
    •     Skills to repair the customer as well as the equipment.

    Mig Welder


    Training and experience in MIG and Flux Core welding is required.

    H.S graduate or equivalent GED – Tech school training a plus.


    • Mechanical ability a must – experience with mechanical assemblies
    • Experience with hydraulic components and systems required

    Experienced Driver Hauling and Loading/Unloading Heavy Equipment             

    Class A CDL to transport heavy equipment via the company-owned semi-tractor and low boy trailer.

    Candidate MUST HAVE experience hauling and loading/unloading heavy equipment.

    Also must be able to travel on the road for a few days at a time when necessary.
